The core of the portfolio
We own businesses with durable competitive advantages, high returns on capital, strong balance sheets and long runways to reinvest. Positions are bought with a margin of safety and held through market noise for as long as the investment thesis remains intact.
What we look for: pricing power, recurring revenue, capable management and earnings growth we can underwrite for years, not quarters.
A recurring income layer
We sell covered calls against existing holdings and cash-secured puts on companies we would be glad to own at a lower price. The premium we collect adds steady income and lowers the cost basis of the portfolio over time.
Strikes and sizes are chosen so that being assigned is an outcome we accept, not one we fear.
A tactical sleeve
A smaller allocation pursues moves lasting days to weeks around earnings, catalysts and key technical levels. Every trade has its entry, target and stop defined before capital is committed.
This sleeve is sized so that no single trade can meaningfully affect the long-term portfolio.
Position limits are set at the portfolio level, so no single idea, however compelling, can dominate results.
Options are sold only against shares we hold or cash we have set aside, so every obligation is known in advance.
Tactical trades carry predefined stops. When a thesis breaks in the core portfolio, we act on it rather than hope.
